Roger Brown

Roger Brown is a Certified Agile Coach who provides training, consulting and coaching services in Agile software development areas including Scrum project management, enterprise agile adoption. Roger also does training and mentoring in agile engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development, automated acceptance testing and continuous integration. Roger is focused on helping companies and individuals find their own best approaches to the use of agile methods.
Roger is one of four people in the world to hold all certifications granted by the Scrum Alliance including Certified Scrum Trainer and Certified Scrum Coach. He is a member of the Scrum Alliance, the Agile Alliance and the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN). Roger is a founding member and certification board member for the Certified Scrum Coach program.
Roger is an experienced software engineer, technical project manager and staff manager. He has experience working with both large and small companies in many industries. His work experience includes Dartmouth College, Vicinity Corporation, Microsoft and TeleAtlas.
Bob Schatz

Bob Schatz, with nearly 30 years in the industry, has led teams and companies using agile techniques since the mid-90’s. Bob served as VP of Development for Primavera Systems, Inc. where he was responsible for leading the highly-successful adoption of agile development techniques starting in 2002 for the team that develops Primavera’s software solutions for Enterprise Project, Resource, and Portfolio Management. Bob was coached, mentored, and trained by Ken Schwaber and Bob Martin. Before joining Primavera, Bob spent seven years at Liquent, Inc., managing the development of publishing software targeted for the pharmaceutical market, and 12 years at GE Aerospace/Lockheed Martin, where he held various management positions for large-scale development projects for US government agencies and the Department of Defense. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Temple University and a Masters degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bob is a proven leader in successfully implementing agile development techniques, such as Scrum and XP, and driving culture changes in organizations. He and his team have been featured in a number of industry articles. He often speaks at industry events talking about the benefits and challenges of bringing agile techniques into an organization. He has experience in all aspects of a project from developer to C-level executive. Bob is passionate about creating better software and improving the quality of life for the people that create and use it.

Jim Schiel

Jim Schiel is a Certified Scrum Trainer with a strong background in enterprise level Scrum installations and agile development in a regulated environment. Schiel worked at Siemens Health Services for 23 years, where he worked initially as a developer, then as a manager for 16 years, eventually playing a leading role in creating one of the largest Scrum software development implementations in the world. Starting in 2005, Jim pioneered the use of Scrum with his development teams and, as the practice began to spread, took on a coaching role, planning and executing the implementation of Scrum and XP practices across six products, seven development sites, and over 1,200 developers. As a business process engineer at Siemens, he helped identify, document, and implement best practices for the software development that maintained the organization's ISO-9001 certification and satisfied FDA medical device requirements.
Schiel is a “first-generation” Certified Scrum Trainer and has been training Scrum Masters since 2005. He received his initial Scrum Master certification from one of the co-founders of the Scrum method and was also certified as a trainer by the same individual. Jim has taught and coached over 1,000 Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Scrum Teams from California to Finland since receiving his certification.

John Niec

His teaching style is fun and engaging, and he provides real world experience and practical exam strategy in his classes.
Jim Park
Jim J. Park, PMP, is a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of California, Santa Cruz Extension, teaching project management for the business and management department. He has taught public courses in project management for UCSC Extension in Silicon Valley since 1998. Over the past 10+ years, Jim has trained hundreds of Silicon Valley’s technical professionals and managers. He has helped make project management the most successful program at Extension and his courses have consistently been in high demand. His success in the classroom has also created strong demand for on-site corporate training. Jim has provided project management mentoring for companies such as Oracle, Hitachi, PG&E, Lockheed, Kaiser Permanente, Applied Materials, SRI International, Ingersoll-Rand, Symantec, LucasArts, and the U.S. Air Force.
Jim has over 15 years of experience in the software development, IT, pharmaceutical and medical-device industries, with well over a decade of experience focused on managing projects and developing better project management organizations, processes, and tools. He received his Bachelors degree in Materials Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and resides in Redwood City, California.
Scott Freauf
Mr. Scott D. Freauf, an instructor with ESI International, is an experienced project management practitioner, consultant, and educator with nearly 20 years’ experience in project management. He currently teaches Risk Management and IT Risk Management as part of ESI’s project management curriculum. Throughout his career, Mr. Freauf has effectively managed projects of varying sizes and complexities, implementing strategic initiatives in cross-functional matrix team environments for both private and public sector organizations in various industries.
He has also been instrumental in the start-up and operation of project management offices in both large and small business environments. Additionally, Mr. Freauf has conducted assessments of organizational project management maturity and project manager competencies.

Chuck Millhollan

Chuck is the Director of Program Management for Churchill Downs Incorporated and has over 25 years of experience in personnel and project management. In addition to his work as a practitioner, Chuck develops curriculum and teaches for several accredited universities and is a contributing author to Dr. Harold Kerzner’s text, Project Management Best Practices: Achieving Global Excellence, 2nd Edition published in February 2010.
Chuck serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the International institute of Business Analysis, is a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Kentuckiana PMI chapter.
Chuck earned his Bachelor of Science in Management in 1993 through Southern Illinois University, his Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2000 and a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin in 2003.

Ron Jefferies

Ron Jeffries is author of Extreme Programming Adventures in C#, the senior author of Extreme Programming Installed, and was the on-site XP coach for the original Extreme Programming project. Ron has been involved with Scrum, Extreme Programming, and Agile for over ten years, presenting numerous talks and publishing papers on the topic.
Ron is the proprietor of www.XProgramming.com, a highly-ranked source of Agile Software Development information. He was one of the creators, and a featured instructor in Object Mentor's popular XP Immersion course. Ron is a well-known independent consultant in Scrum, XP and Agile methods, recently specializing in helping Scrum teams get Done-Done.
Ron is one of the original authors of the Agile Manifesto.
Ron Jeffries has been developing software longer than most people have been alive. He was the on-site coach on the very first Extreme Programming project and has been helping people to create a more effective and more enjoyable software development process ever since. Ron is a former member of the board of directors of the Agile Alliance.
Chet Hendrickson

Chet Hendrickson has a quarter century’s experience in information technology and software development. He has been active in Agile software development since its beginning, and was the team leader on the Chrysler C3 project, the first project to follow all the practices of Extreme Programming.
Chet was the first signatory of the Agile Manifesto.
They first presented the ideas that became Extreme Programming at the 1996 Smalltalk Solution conference. Since then, they have taught courses on many facets of XP across North America and Europe. In addition to their rightly famous “Small Card Planning Game”, they are often conference favorites with their unique combination of humor and insight.

Kevin Thompson

Kevin Thompson, Ph.D., has a doctorate in Physics from Princeton University, and extensive background in managing software development projects. He specializes in training individuals, teams, and organizations in agile development. Dr. Thompson helps companies make the challenging transition to agile development by working with development teams and business stakeholders to identify their needs, define the right process for the business, determine the steps needed to implement the process, and work through the steps successfully.
Dr. Thompson has Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master (CSM), and Scrum Practitioner (CSP) certifications.
Kendrick Burson
Kendrick Burson is an experienced agile coach and practitioner. He has extensive background in developing client-server, Web, and embedded software applications in several languages (Java, .NET, C++, etc.) on multiple platforms (Windows, Unix, embedded systems). Kendrick specializes in continuous integration systems including build and test automation practices and software quality metrics. Kendrick trains organizations and coaches teams in agile development processes such as Scrum and Kanban, as well as best practices for software development.
Kendrick has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from UC Davis, speaks several languages, and is an accomplished dance instructor and martial artist.
