Prerequisites

Course attendees are encouraged to have basic knowledge of the Scrum process obtained from books, journal articles, and online content. Prior experience with Scrum a plus. The Scrum Guide is required reading. We highly recommend that you also read Agile Project Management with Scrum by Ken Schwaber.

Certification

After taking this course, students are eligible to take a 60 question online examination within 90 days of the course to earn the certification. Frequenty asked questions about the exam can be found here.  Exam questions are based on The Scrum Guide by Ken Schwaber.

At this time, all students will be given a passing grade on the Certified ScrumMaster exam as the Scrum Alliance verifies appropriate exam questions and course content.

Cancellation Policy

Class cancelation 14 days prior to the course will receive a full refund. Cancellation 7 days before the course will have to pay a Fee of $150. If a student does not show up for a class without any notification they will not receive a refund. If you missed a class without any prior notification and want to roll into another class there will be a $200 Admin Fee.

Roger Brown is a Certified Agile Coach who provides training, consulting and coaching services in Agile software development areas including Scrum project management, enterprise agile adoption. Roger also does training and mentoring in agile engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development, automated acceptance testing and continuous integration. Roger is focused on helping companies and individuals find their own best approaches to the use of agile methods.

Roger is one of four people in the world to hold all certifications granted by the Scrum Alliance including Certified Scrum Trainer and Certified Scrum Coach. He is a member of the Scrum Alliance, the Agile Alliance and the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN). Roger is a founding member and certification board member for the Certified Scrum Coach program. 

Roger is an experienced software engineer, technical project manager and staff manager. He has experience working with both large and small companies in many industries. His work experience includes Dartmouth College, Vicinity Corporation, Microsoft and TeleAtlas.

Jesse Fewell is an innovative leader in the business of technology. In addition to speaking for Agile, Scrum, and PMI conferences, he has collected a broad array of experiences in several sectors such as National Security, Aerospace, GIS, Stock Media, Telecom, and hospitality. Recently, he founded the PMI Agile Community of Practice; PMI’s component dedicated to Agile Project Management. Jesse will focus on RippleRock’s multinational clients in India as well as the broader practitioner market in South Asia.

A graduate of John Hopkins University, he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST).

Instructor for Denver Area

Michele Sliger is the co-author of The Software Project Manager’s Bridge to Agility. She has extensive experience in agile software development, having transitioned to Scrum and XP practices in 2000 after starting her career following the traditional waterfall approach. A self-described “bridge builder,” her passion lies in helping those in traditional software development environments cross the bridge to agility.

Sliger is the owner of Sliger Consulting Inc., where she consults with businesses ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, helping teams with their agile adoption, and helping organizations prepare for the changes that agile adoption brings. A frequent conference speaker and regular contributor to software industry publications such as StickyMinds, Sliger is a strong advocate of agile principles and value-driven development practices.

She is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). A former adjunct graduate professor at the University of Colorado, Sliger holds an undergraduate MIS degree from the University of South Florida and an MBA.

Bob Sarni is an Agile Organizational Change Coach, an Agile Mentor and Coach, a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). Bob uses his deep experience (over 20 years) in project, product, program, and portfolio management to help organizations realize maximum value on their investments by leveraging agile methods and practices for product development. Bob’s expertise is in guiding enterprise transition and implementation of agile’s values and principles. He has experience with small and large teams as well as entire enterprises in the Insurance, Finance, Trading, Telecommunications and Life Sciences sectors.

Bob is the first in the world to receive all certifications offered by the Scrum Alliance (CSM, CSPO, CSP, CSC, CST). He is active in the agile community and has been a reviewer, stage producer and/or organizer at many Agile 20xx conferences and Scrum Gatherings. Additionally, Bob is a reviewer of CSP, CSC and CST applications for the Scrum Alliance.
