Course Summary

This course covers the realm of Program Management, explaining what a Program is (and isn't) and what a Program Manager does. The course will examine the role of Program Management within the overall execution of strategy within an organization, the relationship of Program Management to Portfolio and Project Management, and the Program Management Lifecycle. Students will learn about the softer side of Program Management and what it takes to be an effective Program Manager. During the course, students will compare and contrast Program Management methodologies from the Project Management Institute and other organizations, and participate in workshops that provide practical exposure to tools and templates for the Program Manager.

Chris Marr is an instructor with over nine years experience managing large Weblogic and Comergent projects and programs to support convergence, process engineering, outsourcing, and business continuity to a multitude of vertical markets including Technology, Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare and many more. Chris has also successfully led a $150M PMO in Europe. Chris’s technical experience covers VoIP, IP Telephony, call & contact centers, LAN/WAN technologies and facilities. Chris was educated in Electronic Engineering in Southampton, England and was certified PMP in 2003.
