AI-Empowered Implementing SAFe® gives transformation leaders, consultants and change agents a practical path from understanding SAFe® to putting it into action. Across four days, participants build a shared foundation in Lean-Agile principles, experience PI Planning, and learn how to plan an implementation, launch Agile Release Trains, coach execution and extend SAFe® to the portfolio.
The first half of this course is an intensive version of Leading SAFe® with Certified SAFe® Agilist (SA). The goal is to prepare certified SAFe Practice Consultants (SPCs) to teach the course and act as a certifying agent for SAFe Agilists (SAs). Outcomes include:
- The ability to lead an enterprise agile transformation while leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and its underlying principles of lean thinking and product development flow.
- A thorough understanding of how the principles and practices of the SAFe framework support Agile Teams, Agile Programs, Agile Program Portfolio Management, and Agile Architecture.
The second half of this course focuses on developing the ability to identify, plan, and implement SAFe programs with Agile Release Trains. Students will leave class with the briefings, artefacts, and templates needed to:
- Identify value streams
- Optimise organisational change management
- Launch agile programs
- Plan and execute major events and milestones
- Implement effective processes and measures for continuous program improvement.
The course is designed to help participants return to their organisation with the knowledge, tools and confidence to support an enterprise transformation and prepare for the SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC) certification exam.

- Exam access: Candidates can access the exam within the SAFe Community Platform upon completion of the Implementing SAFe® course
- Exam duration – Once the exam begins, candidates have 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete the exam

- Passing score: 45 out of 60 (75%)

- Exam cost: First exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. Each retake attempt costs $250.

AI-Empowered Implementing SAFe® is a four-day course designed for professionals who are responsible for leading or supporting an enterprise Lean-Agile transformation. It combines an accelerated Leading SAFe® experience with practical guidance on implementing SAFe®, launching Agile Release Trains (ARTs), coaching ART execution, extending SAFe® to the portfolio, and sustaining continuous improvement.
Successful completion of the course and qualifying exam leads to the SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC) certification.
Do I have to attend all four days of Implementing SAFe if I already attended a Leading SAFe course?
Yes. To earn the SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC) certification, you must attend all four days of the Implementing SAFe® course, regardless of whether you already hold a SAFe Agilist certification.
While Implementing SAFe® includes Leading SAFe® content, the course has a different focus. It is a train-the-trainer programme designed to develop the skills and techniques needed to effectively teach SAFe® courses.
Your existing SAFe Agilist certification therefore does not exempt you from any part of the four-day Implementing SAFe® course.
What can I teach as a certified SPC?
As a certified SPC, you are prepared to:
- Teach Leading SAFe® to managers and executives and act as a certifying agent for SAFe® Agilists (SAs).
- Teach SAFe® for Teams and act as a certifying agent for SAFe® Practitioners (SPs).
- Help organisations identify value streams, launch Agile Release Trains, plan and run major events, and improve their Lean-Agile ways of working.
- Support enterprise transformation through coaching, implementation planning, portfolio alignment, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.
Teaching and certification activities remain subject to Scaled Agile® accreditation, licensing, and current programme requirements.
Who should take Implementing SAFe®, and are there prerequisites?
This course is intended for consultants, managers, leaders, change agents, programme and project managers, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and others helping to lead a SAFe® implementation or enterprise Agile transformation.
Participants should arrive with an excellent grasp of Agile and a working knowledge of SAFe® practices. The course is accelerated and is best suited to people who are ready to take an active role in implementing SAFe®, rather than those seeking only an introductory overview.
What is the SAFe® SPC exam like?
The SAFe® 6 Program Consultant Exam is a web-based, closed-book exam completed in a single browser without outside assistance. It includes 60 multiple-choice questions, with a mixture of single-answer and multiple-select questions. Candidates have 120 minutes to complete the exam and must score at least 45 out of 60 (75%) to pass. The exam is delivered in English.
