Project Management Institute
Gartner analysts predicted in 2010 that by 2012 Agile development methods will be utilized in 80% of all software development projects. It is no surprise that the Project Management Institute (PMI)® announced that they are offering a new Certification for Agile Project Managers. The certification validates a PM’s experience and mastery of the agile principals and processes. An Agile certified practitioner has the knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall practices and is able to lead teams on Agile projects. By holding this Agile Practitioner Certification, which is more credible than other agile certifications out there, a practitioner verifies their agile expertise to companies looking to adopt the agile methodology.
Our Agile Project Management experts want to help eligible Project Managers succeed in this certification, by creating an interactive course that prepares Project Managers for the Agile Certified Practitioner exam.
Why You Should Take the (PMI-ACP)® Exam Prep Course:
If you are already using the Agile methodology to manage your projects or are interested in attaining a more advanced certification in the Agile practices then this course is right for you. If you are new to Agile, we would recommend you start with the Certified Scrum Master Course. You do not have to be a project manager or PMP® credential holder to take this course or apply to sit for the exam.
Take this course if:
- You are looking to demonstrate your level of experience and knowledge of managing agile projects.
- You want to increase your knowledge and understanding of how Agile is applied and practiced.
- You want a certification that is more credible than the existing entry-level offerings.
Quote from, Instructor and course creator Dr. Thompson:
“The Project Management Institute’s entry into agile certification is a welcomed development,” says Dr. Kevin Thompson. “Agile processes bring powerful new tools for Project Managers and teams who work in high-uncertainty environments. These tools nicely complement the previous standards and practices defined by PMI®, and give Project Managers a richer toolbox. The new ACP certification will help us all by setting a standard for excellence in agile project management.”
This course is available as an on-site private training and currently has no in-class training schedule for individual sign-up. Click on “Get a Quote For a Private Session” above to receive a quote.
“Kevin is one of the most honest and balanced presenters of the methods and processes of the Scrum Project Management approach. He knows where the approach applies, and where it is not appropriate, and how it fits in to the overall scheme of managing projects.”
“Kevin did a wonderful job of imparting your knowledge of scrum onto our team. We could not have asked for a more organized, better prepared instructor, nor one who could have been a better fit for our group.”
“I took my exam last Friday and passed! The exam was pretty much as described in class. Know your Agile, Scrum, Lean and XP principles but the questions were worded to ‘trip us up’ as Kevin pointed out in our prep class. On questions that I didn’t know the answer right away or the choices were not very clear, I was always able to eliminate at least 2 of the choices. I just relied on the class materials and took the C-prime sample tests to prepare. I thought the prep class was right on to help me prepare for this exam.”
“I took the exam yesterday and passed on my first attempt as well. I leveraged class materials as my primary source of exam prep. In addition to our class binder, I used another prep book for additional insight but most of all for more test questions to practice on.
Thanks again Kevin for a great prep class.”
