Mary Zarba is a longtime business analysis expert, program manager, and enterprise IT coordinator. She has three decades of experience performing complex BA work in large organizations, and she was an early business analysis professional, bringing systematic structure to BA methods before there was a profession officially termed "business analysis." Mary was an early process and technology innovator in the healthcare sector, bringing process improvement techniques and structured analysis practices to some of the most complex and mission-critical areas of enterprise IT. She was an early advocate of the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) credential from the IIBA, and one of the first proponents of a professional certifying body in the field of business analysis. Mary began her career with an undergraduate degree in health education studies and professional teaching certificate from Colorado State University and an MBA with a medical practice emphasis from the University of Phoenix. Foreshadowing her passion and strong experience consulting and training in the healthcare sector, prior to her business career Mary served as a certified paramedic in the state of Colorado. Mary has designed and implemented new processes and systems for numerous large companies, especially healthcare organizations, throughout her career. She has also been training professional business units throughout her career, including as a GE Centricity specialist and at High Country Health where she designed an enterprise-wide program for integrating mobile devices with the organization’s IT infrastructure and oversaw the implementation of several other technology systems.
